Big brands are gearing up to launch phones with smart designs. Screens that double up or fold are all the hype this year. What’s more? 5G is likely to be incorporated across most models, and that’s just one of the upgrades. If you’re looking to switch over to a new smartphone, take a look at these anticipated releases for the upcoming months.

  1. OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro
The new OnePlus phones are set to launch on March 23rd. CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter to tease features including Warp Charge and wireless charging. In another tweet, there were hints to the Pro model’s screen with specs like LTPO display and 10-bit color. But despite these great features, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip makes the new OnePlus models one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2021. With this chip’s power, users are awaiting stellar graphics performance and superior image processing.
  2. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is supposedly next in line in the Z Flip series. The screen folds up to fit into the palm of your hand, which makes it ideal for those looking for compact smartphones. While Samsung hasn’t dropped the finer details, there are rumors of a nicer camera and stronger processor. It is also said that the Flip 3 will come in colors like green, black, beige, and light violet.
  3. Google Pixel 5a
Even though Google hasn’t shared details, the Pixel 5a has become one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2021. Thanks to its fair share of rumors, the phone is said to live up to the minimalist appeal of its predecessors. The 5a may inherit the camera and OLED display from its predecessor, but it’ll be a little larger in dimensions. Users are also expecting a Full HD resolution.
  4. Huawei P50 Pro
The Huawei P50 Pro is likely to be released by the end of March or early April. Leaked render images of the device revealed a large camera system at the back, which peaked just about everyone’s curiosity. While a lot is uncertain, the photographs taken from this phone are going to be something, that’s for sure! Another detail to drop is the addition of an IR blaster that allows phones to connect to other devices. Users are also looking forward to seeing what Harmony OS will bring to the table.
  5. Apple iPhone 13
The iPhone 12 only just dropped and we’re already anticipating the upcoming iPhone 13! The new phone is rumored to have better battery life, astrophotography mode, and portrait mode video shooting. There are also talks about an under-display Touch ID sensor that effortlessly detects fingerprints. While these telltales remain unconfirmed until Apple backs them up, the new iPhone is probably the most anticipated smartphone of 2021.
  6. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
The Flip is not the only device series that Samsung plans on releasing. The Fold 3 is also in the works and is likely to be the flagship model for next-generation folding smartphones from the brand. The device will go from phone to mini tab in seconds for versatile viewing experience. There are also talks about an under-display camera and Exynos hardware. If the S Pen comes along with this model, it would add to the phone’s overall appeal.

While the lineup is promising, buying a smartphone really comes down to the upgrades. Will we get what we expect? Guess we’ll have to wait for the year to unfold.
